Dubuque… and All That Jazz!
Featuring Rock N’ Roll Rewind with Walker, Kluseman & Steil
Fridays: July 21, August 18, and September 1
3–9 PM @ Town Clock Plaza
Dubuque Main Street and the Dubuque Jaycees invite you to celebrate the beloved free summer concert series, Dubuque… and All That Jazz!, on opening night, June 16, 2017, under the Town Clock. The event kicks off with a bean bag tournament at 3 p.m. with the Jaycees beer tents opening at 3:30 p.m. followed by an opening musical act at 4 p.m. with the headliner taking stage at 5 p.m. Food sales begin at 5 p.m.
After community feedback, the Jazz! committee was challenged to engage a more diverse scope of music, so a local group has been booked to kick off the 2017 Jazz! season.
Twenty-five years ago, on July 24, 1992, Jazz! debuted its first concert under the Town Clock. Downtown employees gathered to mingle after work, have a few beverages, and enjoy the then pedestrian mall in our city center. Little did they know that 25 years later, Jazz! is still here, and better than ever! Everyone is invited to come down and visit with co-workers, family, and old and new friends alike at the first Jazz! of the summer.
Award winning graphic designer Michael Schmalz, Jr. of Refinery Design Company creates new custom artwork every year for Jazz!, and 2017 is no exception. Schmalz’s designs run the gamut of colors, art styles, and impressions. Limited-edition prints of these artistic designs are prized by local Jazz ! aficionados.
Jazz! also means the chance to connect with fellow Dubuquers over delicious dining options from local food vendors in addition to ice-cold beer and Pepsi products served by the Dubuque Jaycees. This year’s selection of food vendors includes: American Bombshell, Town Clock Inn, 1st and Main, Watershed, Mi Ranchito, Freddie’s Popcorn, Adobos, Chocolate Hog, Catfish Charlie’s, and Chocolaterie Stam.
