Human trafficking exists in Dubuque and the tri-state area.
Set Free Dubuque, a local non-profit organization working to stop human trafficking in the tri state area will be hosting a second annual Walk to Set Free event on Sunday, July 30th, 2017.
The Walk to Set Free will begin and end at the Roshek Building, 700 Locust Street, Dubuque. The route is approximately 1 mile around downtown landmarks. Check in will begin in the Roshek Building lobby at 2:00 – 2:15 pm with the event beginning at 2:15 pm and ending around 3:00 pm. Speakers and informational booths will be available before and after the walk.
Set Free has decided to host this year’s walk on a significant day: July 30th. This is World Day against Trafficking in Persons, which is to raise awareness of the situation of victims of human trafficking and for the promotion and protection of their rights. (un.org)
