Dubuque Oktoberfest and Bier Tasting is scheduled to return to A.Y. McDonald Park on Saturday, September 15, 2018, for its 10th annual celebration of German and Slavic Heritages. Come have your German/Slavic family reunion at Dubuque Oktoberfest – we do all the work, and you have all the fun!
At 11 a.m. the Dubuque Oktoberfest gates open for music, food, beverages, entertainment and games, including the stein holding contest, wiener dog races and the Duber Bier Mile Run/Walk.
Throughout the day, music will be provided by the Guttenberg German Band, Americana Band and the Loras College German Band. The UNI International Dance Theatre will also be performing traditional German and Slavic Dances and giving dance lessons.
For the beer lovers, Oktoberfest also offers a special Bier Tasting event from 3 – 6 p.m., where attendees can sample over 25 breweries offering samples of their beverages. Attendance is limited, and a special ticket purchase of $25 in advance or $30 at the door is required for the Bier Tasting.
Ticket prices are only $5 for adults and free for children 10 and under. All proceeds stay locally, benefiting Camp Albrecht Acres in Sherrill, Iowa. This year, Dubuque Oktoberfest is partnering with the Benefit Classic Half Marathon and 5K hosted by the Mississippi Valley Running Association. All runners receive free admission to Dubuque Oktoberfest.
