Live at Heritage Center Performing Arts Series
The Official Blues Brothers Revue
Saturday, September 16, 7:30 PM
@ University of Dubuque Heritage Center,
John and Alice Butler Hall (2255 Bennett St)
Dan Aykroyd, Judith Belushi Pisano, and Paul Shaffer present The Official Blues Brothers Revue on Saturday, Sept. 16, at 7:30 p.m. The live concert combines the comedy and hits from the original movie and pays homage to Chicago’s rich history of blues, gospel, and soul music. Hear all of The Blues Brothers classics such as “Soul Man,” “Rubber Biscuit,” “Sweet Home Chicago,” and more.
Kieron Lafferty (Elwood Blues) and Wayne Catania (Jake Blues) were hand-picked by Aykroyd, Belushi, Pisano, and Shaffer, who is the original Blues Brothers musical director, to carry the torch first lit by the iconic duo of Aykroyd and John Belushi on Saturday Night Live in 1978 and immortalized in the eponymous blockbuster 1980 film directed by John Landis. “Kieron and Wayne are not imitators; they live the music and embody the characters. They understand the spirit of The Blues Brothers and revel in the joy of being Jake and Elwood,” Belushi Pisano said.
Backed by the all-star Intercontinental Rhythm & Blues Band, The Official Blues Brothers Revue is a multi-media interactive experience showcasing their undeniable talent in songs that comprise a virtual encyclopedia of rock, blues, and soul. Audiences of all ages will be on their feet.
A free CyberCafé Knapp Stage pre-show concert from 6 to 7 p.m. featuring Tony Walker precedes the performance. Tony Walker is an acoustic entertainer from Dubuque who performs as a “One Man Band.” He puts his special twist on many covers from the 1970s to the present. His music crosses several musical genres and styles for a wide variety of music for all tastes.
Tickets are $31–$36 adults, $27–$31 UD alumni, $15 child/student and can be purchased online at dbq.edu/heritagecenter or at the Farber Box Office, or by phone at 563-585-SHOW.
